Inspired by the display of Oregon Book Award winners, I read this year’s fiction winner Bearing the Body by Ehud Havazelet. I had other need-to-reads on my list but this one snuck in and hooked me. It’s about a dysfunctional family and how they deal with the death of one of the adult sons. The family had come apart both physically and emotionally over the years and the members had no solice to extend to one and other. Although it sounds grim, it’s not a depressing read and I’d recommend it for men and women.
