Nonfiction I want to take home

There are more new books on the cart behind the reference desk.  It is hard to resist placing them all on hold.  However, I already have many books at home that I will unfortunately not have time to read.  So instead of placing holds, I will just mention them here.  You can check them out!

Teardrops and Tiny Trailers by Douglas Heister – This book is filled with color photos and descriptions of great little trailers.   It made many of us want to take to the road immediately after hitching up one of the lovely 2 wheel trailers.

The gingerbread architect : recipes and blueprints for twelve classic American homes / Susan Matheson and Lauren Chattman –  Take a look at this book and then head to the kitchen to make your own gingerbread house.  Or visit the Third Street Holiday Market at Third and Kirby in downtown McMinnville to view the real thing.

Domino: The Book of Decorating, a room-by-room guide to creating a home that makes you happy – Tons of photos in all styles

Stalking Irish Madness: Searching for the Roots of My Family’s Schizophrenia by Patrick Tracy

The Flavor Bible: The essential guide to culinary creativity, based on the wisdom of America’s most imaginative chefs – This book lists ingredients that go well together, letting you decide how to prepare them.  Some examples are shrimp + cayenne + cinnamon + orangeor winter squash + onions + Parmesan cheese + chicken stock.   I bought some cod this afternoon for dinner.  I think I’ll try cod + mushrooms + garlic + lemon + potatoes.
